A Crochet Wrap

This is a quick and mindless project.  Perfect for working on in front of the television, riding in the car or while chatting with friends.  The fabric is light and breezy and quite lovely.

This pattern is adapted from the Windsor Lace Wrap designed by Jessica Elliott

Supplies needed:

Size I crochet hook
3 Skeins of Baby Weight Yarn

Finished wrap measures 87 inches long by 23 inches wide

Gauge is 18 dc to 4 inches wide

Fringe: Cut fringe first then begin wrap pattern.

Cut 116 strips of yarn to 17 inches long (tip: find a book that measures 17 inches around and wrap the yarn around the book 116 times cut once you'll end up with 116 strips of yarn 17 inches long)

Pattern: Chain(ch) 88

Row 1: Double crochet(dc) in 4th chain from hook( counts as 1st dc) then dc in every chain across ( 85 dc in row).

Row 2: ch 6 turn(counts as 1st dc and ch 2 space), *skip 2 dc,then dc in next dc, ch 2*. Repeat from *-* across row dc in last stitch.

Row 3: ch 6 turn ,*dc in next dc, ch 2* repeat from * to * across row dc in last stitch.

Row 4: ch 3, *2 dc in ch 2 space, dc in next dc*. Repeat * - * across dc in last stitch.(85 dc in row) Repeat rows 2-4 for pattern. Total of 96 rows for 87 inch long wrap.

Fringe: attach in groups of 2 strands starting in 1st dc and in every 3rd dc across ending in last dc on both sides.

Wet shawl and spin or gently squeeze out water then hang over door or drying rack allowing shawl to hang and stretch as it dries. After shawl is dry trim fringe to even length if necessary.
